From Silence to Vibrations: Exciting Updates and New Beginnings at Zerofeedback.
A busy summer!
Months have passed since the last newsletter!
Despite our silence, we've been working consistently. While we haven't had time to keep you updated via newsletter, we have definitely been busy on our Instagram profile.
Where to start? The 'Rational Inattention' open call for our forthcoming publication is now closed. We are finalising the book's selections and hope to reveal the artists soon!
We will notify you shortly about the final pick and the book's details.
Meanwhile, our online magazine features some amazing artists. If you haven't previously or don't do it on a regular basis, I recommend checking them out here: Online Magazine
We are also very very excited to announce that we will soon begin publishing a new editorial project: FEED.
We have been actively promoting art through our online platform and are now looking to extend this showcase into a physical medium: a print publication featuring works from some of the artists who have contributed to Zerofeedback's online magazine, to be included in our catalogue, FEED.
The Concept
This project aims to mark a transition from the digital to the physical, providing a tangible medium for art lovers. Our initial plan is to publish 12 issues, each focusing on a different artist.
The publication will serve a dual purpose:
Single Edition: For art enthusiasts who wish to own an individual publication featuring the work of one specific artist, catering to those with a particular interest or connection to that artist's work.
Expandable Kit: For those interested in a series that grows over time, we offer a kit that enables the publication to expand with each new artist we feature. This is facilitated by a specially designed binding, allowing the creation of a growing anthology of contemporary art.
Stay tuned because the first issue will be announced very soon, among an amazing lineup of artists!
Additionally, we're presenting a new open call for a collective exhibition in Tokyo.
The theme this time is 'You're Innocent in Your Dreams' which encourages artists to investigate the purity and honesty of dreams.
This show explores what happens when societal frameworks break down, exposing raw, unedited feelings and images. Artists are encouraged to freely interpret this theme, offering new perspectives on the intersection of reality and dreams and highlighting the transparency of our inner worlds.
In the realm of dreams, we are free of reality's constraints and can explore a world of innocence and purity. This open call invites submissions that explore the infinite and honest nature of dreams, showing our true selves sans society masks.
Details of the Call:
What: Collective exhibition
Who: No restrictions, anyone can apply
When: 30 August to 29 September
Where: ZERO art space, Tokyo (JP)

Finally, we want to take this opportunity to announce that the venue for our upcoming collective exhibition, which will take place in Tokyo's Toshima-ku neighbourhood of Nagasaki, will be called ZERO.
A brand-new location for photography/contemporary art will open in August 2024. Our 22 square metre gallery, which specialises in contemporary photography and video art, is located in a late Showa-era home. Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment that combines the comforts of home with the pursuit of visual arts by maintaining the house's original ambience.
ZERO will be an extension of ‘Zerofeedback,’ reflecting our commitment to showcasing a wide range of artists, both international and local. Our focus on careful curation and attention to exhibition design is central to our approach.
As a space that values collaboration, ZERO maintains connections with art spaces globally, promoting artistic exchange and dialogue.
